Creating artificial life

Read the article below. Its title is 'I am creating artificial life, declares US gene pioneer'.

According to this, they have made bacteria-size artificial life. Starting from the basic is good approach, however, microorganism is too dangerous I think. They easily transforme and become mutation. Their propagation power is unbelivable, so it's not hard to find examples that some newly appeared microorganisms kill other spices in very short time. Will terrible SF files come true? Interesting.
